Your journey begins well before your flight takes off. The procedures you follow at the airport are a key part of your travel experience.
Here is a step-by-step guide for your smooth passage through the airport.

1. Arrival at the Airport

Plan to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to your flight departure. Available transportation options include:

Clear and visible directional signs help you easily find the International Terminal.

2. Terminal Entrance and Security Screening

Upon entering the terminal:

  • Bags and luggages are screened by X-ray.
  • Passengers pass through a metal detector.
  • Electronic devices such as laptops and tablets must be placed separately on the X-ray conveyor.

3. Check-in

You can complete check-in via:

  • Airline Counters (present passport and ticket, receive boarding pass)
  • Self Check-in Kiosks
  • Online Check-in (if completed, proceed directly to baggage drop)

4. Baggage Drop

  • Checked luggage (excluding cabin baggage) is handed over during check-in and tagged with your bag label. Keep this tag safe throughout your flight.

5. Passport Control

As you exit the country:

  • For Turkish citizens the Overseas Departure Duty payment must be completed before passport control.
  • Passport officers check your passport, visa, and travel documents.

6. Second Security Check

  • Cabin baggage is scanned again by X-ray.
  • Remove tablets and laptops from your carry-on and place them in trays.
  • Liquids, gels, and aerosols must not exceed 100ml per container and be in a transparent, resealable 1-liter bag.
  • Sharp or hazardous items are prohibited.
  • Remove coat, jacket, belt, and metal items before passing through the metal detector.
  • Shoes may need to be removed or you may undergo a manual search.
  • Collect all belongings carefully; contact Lost & Found for any forgotten items.
