Milas-Bodrum Airport, operated by TAV Airports, a member of Groupe ADP, celebrated the start of the summer season with the arrival of the first international flights from Frankfurt and Düsseldorf by SunExpress.

 

The summer season at Milas-Bodrum Airport began with SunExpress flights originating from Germany. Yesterday (March 24), a total of 360 passengers were greeted with flowers as they disembarked at Bodrum. SunExpress Flight XQ 463 from Frankfurt landed at 14:20, followed by Flight XQ 659 from Düsseldorf at 23:50. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Yücel Karadavut, the Chief Director of DHMI at Milas-Bodrum Airport, and İclal Kayaoğlu, General Manager of TAV Milas-Bodrum, along with flight crew and airport officials. SunExpress is scheduled to operate flights to Bodrum from seven cities in Germany—Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Cologne, Hannover, and Berlin—until October 26.

 

İclal Kayaoğlu, General Manager of TAV Milas-Bodrum stated, "We are delighted to welcome the first international passengers of the season to Milas-Bodrum Airport. This period marks the beginning of our efforts with stakeholders to extend the flight season in Bodrum and attract different airlines to our city. This summer, airlines such as Jet Time Airlines, Smartwings Slovakia S.R.O, and Norwegian Air Shuttle will operate flights to Milas-Bodrum Airport for the first time. We will continue to collaborate with our stakeholders to connect Bodrum to more destinations. We eagerly await hosting guests from all over the world. With the increasing number of destinations, we hope that the tourism revenue for the region will make a significant contribution to the local economy in the 2024 season."

 

During the international flight season lasting until November 3 at Milas-Bodrum Airport, flights will be operated to 75 different destinations with a total of 56 different airlines. The airport will host various airlines including Jet2.com, EasyJet, Freebird, Ryanair Sun, Corendon, Mavi Gök Havacılık, Discover, SAS Scandinavian, Smartwings Slovakia S.R.O, and Norwegian Air Shuttle. These airlines will operate direct flights from Milas-Bodrum to various destinations such as Liverpool, Belfast, Manchester, Cologne, Krakow, Vilnius, Beirut, St. Petersburg, Copenhagen, and Rotterdam.

 

In 2023, Milas-Bodrum Airport served a total of 4 million 134 thousand passengers.. In the first two months of 2024, it served 188,387 passengers, reflecting a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
